Continue on to Kilcolgan. In Kilcolgan turn right onto the N67 (signposted Ballyvaughan). Continue on until Lisdoonvarna. Turn right onto the R478 signposted for the Cliffs of Moher. The road will follow the coastline and climb a steep hill before curving sharply to the right. The Cliffs of Moher are on the right hand (sea side) of the road but cars should turn in to the visitor centre carpark on the left hand side. From Galway approx 1 hour 35 minutes. From Ballyvaughan approx 35 minutes. From Lisdoonvarna approx 15 minutes. From Limerick/Shannon/Ennis Take the N18 to Ennis. From Ennis take the N85 to Ennistymon where you turn left onto the N67(signposted Lahinch). On your right hand side approx 1 Km from Ennistymon there is a national Famine Memorial funded by the AOH which is well worth a stop. In Lahinch turn right onto the R478 and continue on to the Cliffs of Moher passing through the village of Liscannor and St. Brigid's Well. The Cliffs of Moher are located on the left hand side of the road but cars will park in the carpark on the right hand side of the road and cross to the centre via a pedestrian crossing. From Limerick approx 1 hour 25 minutes. From Shannon approx 1 hour. From Ennis approx 35 minutes. Guided Tours: A walk and talk guided tour is the ideal way to learn more about the Cliffs of Moher so why not take a FREE tour. At the end of the tour your guide will present you with a discount voucher for Atlantic Edge Exhibition. Weekdays at 11.00am and 2.30pm and weekends at 2.30pm. Tours leave from outside the visitor centre. The Cliffs are 214m high at the highest point and range for 8 kilometres over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare. O'Brien's Tower stands proudly on a headland of the majestic Cliffs. From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South. Opened in 2007 the new visitor centre is set into the hillside and offers an all weather experience. The restaurant offers panoramic views of the Cliffs and Liscannor bay from the feature windows. The visitor centre is a unique structure which minimises the visual impact on this fabulous senic location. The centre uses a range of energy saving and eco-friendly features including geo-thermal,solar energy and water recycling.
ATLANTIC EDGE is the exciting exhibition interpretive centre at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience. Housed at the centre of the underground building a huge domed cave contains images, exhibits, displays & experiences that delights young and old alike. A virtual reality cliff face journey "The Ledge" allows you to experience a bird's eye view of the vcliff edge life both above and below sea level. The Clare Journey shows an areial tour of Co Clare's many stunning landscapes. It includes footage of Aill na Searrach famous Cliffs of Moheher wave as well as diving and caving scenes. Atlantic Edge Exhibition is the ideal way to learn about the Cliffs. Temporary exhibitions are often on display check the news section of the website for details.
