The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's top Visitor attractions. The Cliffs are 214m high at the highest point and range for 8 kilometres over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare. O'Brien's Tower stands proudly on a headland of the majestic Cliffs. From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South.
Opened in 2007 the new visitor centre is set into the hillside and offers an all weather experience. The restaurant offers panoramic views of the Cliffs and Liscannor bay from the feature windows. The visitor centre is a unique structure which minimises the visual impact on this fabulous senic location. The centre uses a range of energy saving and eco-friendly features including geo-thermal,solar energy and water recycling.
ATLANTIC EDGE is the exciting exhibition interpretive centre at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience. Housed at the centre of the underground building a huge domed cave contains images, exhibits, displays & experiences that delights young and old alike.
A virtual reality cliff face journey "The Ledge" allows you to experience a bird's eye view of the cliff edge life both above and below sea level. The Clare Journey shows an aerial tour of Co Clare's many stunning landscapes. It includes footage of Aill na Searrach, the famous Cliffs of Moher wave as well as diving and caving scenes.
Atlantic Edge Exhibition is the ideal way to learn about the Cliffs. Temporary exhibitions are often on display, check the news section of the website for details.
