We stayed at Tinakilly House Hotel on the 12 April 2008.

My wife and I decided to take her parents for a special night/weekend out. We found the Tinakilly House Hotel on the site and booked.

We arrived at the hotel at about 5pm. The moment we arrived we felt a senses of peace at the place. Tinakilly is very stately, being built with elegance. It is well decorated and in top condition. Some of the painting go back a long time and there are many about.

We had a warm welcome, and we shown to our rooms. The rooms were top class, with loads of space and a separate living area. Everything was spick and span. We had wonderful sea views.

That evening we had dinner in the hotel. Three of us the Supreme of chicken served with gratin potato, baby vegetables and tarragon jus. My wife had the Pan fried salmon and John Dory, rosti asparagus, chili sauce and crème fraiche. Everyone cleared the plates. The was also a wonderful selection of breads to accompany the meal. We cannot remember the wine we had, but it was very good.

After the meal we had nightcaps by the fire. I had a Bushmills 12 year old whiskey on ice and my wife had a Baileys on ice. Her parents do not drink so they had tea. All in all it was a wonderful evening. We retired for the night.

The next morning her parents had a fabulous breakfast in bed. We went downstairs to the dining room and had a wonderful breakfast. We then strolled around the grounds and at lunch time we headed away home.

We did not want to leave Tinakilly House Hotel, we had to talk ourselves out of staying for an extra night. We were very sad to leave.

I highly recommend the Tinakilly House Hotel for people wanting a bit of elegance and peace.

The first impression about the Ballykisteen Lodge is that it is kept with pride. The place is spotless. The moment you walk in the well appointed hallway greets you, giving you that homely feel. The lounge area on the left is very well decorated, with a decent size TV. The dining area on the right has views of the garden and is spacious. Upstairs the landing is spacious and well decorated. All the rooms are fantastic and spotless. A great plus in my books. Outside the gardens are immaculately kept. There is plenty of private parking. The B&B is ideally located as a springboard to tour the area.

Finally, your hosts will give you the warmest Irish welcome around.

Very highly recommended.

I was in Tralee again today on business. I poped into Mozarts at about 11.30 for something small to eat as I was peckish but not ready for a full lunch.
The one special I chose was Corchette and Red Pepper Soup. It was delicious!!. Tasty and creamy. It was served with a generous slice of homemade brown bread. I finished off with an Americano Coffee.
Great meal.

I was down in Tralee today, checking out a few accomodation places.

I was starving by lunch time, so I decided to pop into town for lunch. Guess where I ended up - Mozarts. Do you know what? I was not dissapointed.

I had one of their specials - Chicken a-la-King. It was fantastic. To end off I had an Americano Coffee and a decent slice of Carrot Cake topped with Walnut Syrup and a drizzle of Chocolate Sauce.

Great Service...

It seems to be frequented by a lot of local people, so, to me that is a good sign.

I'll be back...as they say.
