We stayed at Tinakilly House Hotel on the 12 April 2008.

My wife and I decided to take her parents for a special night/weekend out. We found the Tinakilly House Hotel on the site and booked.

We arrived at the hotel at about 5pm. The moment we arrived we felt a senses of peace at the place. Tinakilly is very stately, being built with elegance. It is well decorated and in top condition. Some of the painting go back a long time and there are many about.

We had a warm welcome, and we shown to our rooms. The rooms were top class, with loads of space and a separate living area. Everything was spick and span. We had wonderful sea views.

That evening we had dinner in the hotel. Three of us the Supreme of chicken served with gratin potato, baby vegetables and tarragon jus. My wife had the Pan fried salmon and John Dory, rosti asparagus, chili sauce and crème fraiche. Everyone cleared the plates. The was also a wonderful selection of breads to accompany the meal. We cannot remember the wine we had, but it was very good.

After the meal we had nightcaps by the fire. I had a Bushmills 12 year old whiskey on ice and my wife had a Baileys on ice. Her parents do not drink so they had tea. All in all it was a wonderful evening. We retired for the night.

The next morning her parents had a fabulous breakfast in bed. We went downstairs to the dining room and had a wonderful breakfast. We then strolled around the grounds and at lunch time we headed away home.

We did not want to leave Tinakilly House Hotel, we had to talk ourselves out of staying for an extra night. We were very sad to leave.

I highly recommend the Tinakilly House Hotel for people wanting a bit of elegance and peace.
