About Tinakilly
Built for Captain Halpin, Commander of the Great Eastern, which laid the transatlantic telegraphic cables, Tinakilly is now a luxury hotel and restaurant. Elegant antique furnishings augment the classical Victorian-Italianate architecture.

The elegant bedrooms reflect the Victorian period and also provide all modern comforts. The period rooms of the west wing feature four-poster and half tester canopy beds. In the east wing, most of the antique appointed Junior Suites and Captain Suites offer breathtaking views over the Irish Sea whilst the remainder offer sweeping views of the gardens. Or, for sheer indulgence, enjoy the sumptuous Admiral’s State Room.

While Tinakilly is a true reflection of the Victorian period, our kitchen prides itself on the fine blend of modern and traditional cuisine. Fresh fish, game and Wicklow lamb are provided locally and Tinakilly's own herb gardens supply the kitchen. Our menu changes frequently to reflect what is freshly available locally and, in old Irish fashion, all foods including breads, jams, chutneys and preserves are prepared by our kitchen staff.

Gardens
An elegant oak-lined avenue leads up to Tinakilly House, which is enveloped by seven acres of pleasure gardens overlooking the Irish Sea and Broadlough Coastal Lagoon. The stunning sea views, romantic gardens and surrounding hinterland of Tinakilly capture but a small slice of the magnificence of county Wicklow. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, the county known as "The Garden of Ireland", boasts exquisite and highly acclaimed gardens, such as Mount Usher and Powerscourt.                                                                                                                                                                      Enjoy a stroll through the 19th century gardens, which have been mapped to include the "Foxes Wood", the "Badger Walk", the rose garden and the herb garden, the tennis court and the croquet lawn.
