Barry’s Shop has been trading in Blackwater, Ardnacrusha for over 100 years.

During its long history, it has provided hot food to the workers and builders of the Ardnacrusha power station. And continues to this day to provide services to  the local community.

The shop has changed ownership several times during this period, with each new owner bringing their own flair and improvements.

Today- Barrys trades under the VIVO Gourmet franchise, and offers hot food, cold deli, a selection of wines from around the world, together with the usual necessities of life.

Over the years the Shop has increased in size to offer a better and more convenient service to the locality.      Ample free parking for the use of our customers is available for up to 40 cars at any one time.    

Many of our staff have been with Barrys for several years, serving the local community, and have helped to make the shop what it is today.  In todays – global world, we also have staff from various parts of Europe and these add to the environment of the shop, making it a unique and multi-cultural place to shop.

Barry's Shop has one of the finest take away dinners anywhere in Ireland. Get pipping hot roast dinners to take home, put it on a plate, and you would think it was home cooked.

They have a great selection of food and wine to choose from.
